Susquehanna Transit Co. was ordered to pay a Pennsylvania couple $1.6 million after a jury determined that the company was responsible for injuries the couple sustained when their bus driver rear-ended another car. As a result of the accident, Altagracia Colon suffered a contused spinal cord and a herniated cervical disc while Domingo Colon fractured his nasal bone. The bus struck the vehicle at high speed, dragging the car over twenty-five feet. Jurors determined that the driver of the bus, Conrad Jankowski, was responsible for the accident.
