A man visiting workers at a residential construction site in Lakeland, Florida was killed yesterday when a crane fell from its boom. Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have not determined if Harry Weaver, 55, was assisting workers of Crane & Rigging of Florida when the accident occurred. An OSHA spokesperson did say Weaver was a friend of at least one employee. Construction safety critics say that non-employees often visit acquaintances at residential sites, and that such sites are typically not heavily regulated.
