National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials revealed yesterday that internal damage was found in the tail section of the American Airlines Airbus 300 that crashed into a Queens neighborhood last November killing all 260 on board and five on the ground. Researchers with NASA examined the tail fin and discovered that layers of advanced composite material used to construct the section had peeled apart. NTSB officials have not determined if the damage occurred prior to the crash.
