Ford Motor Company this week settled a reverse discrimination lawsuit filed by a white former employee who alleged he was passed over for promotion because of his race. John Kovacs, 36, a former manager in Ford's credit finance division, claimed the world's second-largest automaker followed a strict diversity program aimed at promoting minority and female employees.
The complaint alleged that under the direction of former Chief Executive Officer Jacques Nasser, the discriminatory practices increased drastically. At one time, according to Kovacs, Nasser told executives at a training seminar that he "did not like the sea of white faces in the audience."
