Illinois Ink Company Settles Racial Discrimination Lawsuit

Dozens of former African-American workers at Scientific Colors Inc.'s Rockdale, Illinois facility settled a lawsuit with the pigment company Wednesday. According to the initial complaint, minority employees were constantly harassed with racial slurs and graffiti while working for the company. Hangman's nooses were also allegedly left at several employees' workstations. As part of the $1.82 million settlement, Scientific Colors will implement training procedures aimed at preventing future discriminatory acts.
