A recent study shows that most employees who suffer from work-related injuries or illnesses are worried about their financial situation and job security. One source of this fear is the limited information employees have regarding their employer's disability procedures. The study suggests that employers communicate with an injured or ill employee regarding disability procedures and benefits soon after the employee takes leave. Doing so will likely alleviate stress and allow the employer and employee an opportunity to devise a strategy to speed up the employee's return to the job.
