A man received several deep propeller cuts after he was thrown from his 31 foot boat during a fourth of July fishing trip. Ernest Phillips of Largo, Florida was driving the vessel when he made a high speed turn, causing his seat to rip from the deck, hurling him overboard. Investigators do not believe that alcohol played a factor in the accident.
After Phillips fell overboard, the boat's propellers hit him several times in the buttocks. A passing boater took Phillips to shore where he was airlifted to nearby Bayfront Medical Center. A hospital spokesman reported that Phillips is in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
