Boy Critically Injured On ATV

A weekend ATV accident left a Haines City, Florida boy in critical condition. Nine-year-old Frankie Mathis drove his all terrain vehicle into the back of a parked truck on Lakeview Drive. Five-year-old Christopher Mitchell, sitting on the back of the ATV, was wearing his helmet and only suffered slight injuries. Mathis was not wearing his helmet and was seriously injured when he was propelled through the air and onto the hood of the pickup truck.
Mathis is listed in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the ATV had no lights or reflectors and no adults were supervising the boys.
