Pfizer Inc., a top drug making company, settled a $20 million lawsuit out of court this week. The lawsuit is one of several against the leading drug maker resulting from the negative effects of Rezulin, a Pfizer diabetes drug pulled from the market last year after users reported liver complications.
Pfizer settled the lawsuit prior to going to trial. Attorneys for the plaintiff said their client was forced to undergo a liver transplant, and eventually died from the drug. Pfizer is facing hundreds of similar lawsuits.
