General Motors Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) began an investigation of four General Motors vehicles in 2003 after receiving dozens of reports of fuel leaks. The inquiry covers Cadillac Seville, Eldorado, DeVille and Oldsmobile Aurora vehicles built with V-8 engines between 1995 and 1997.

According to descriptions, pipes running from the fuel tank to the fuel injectors on the vehicles may leak. The NHTSA received reports of six fires, one involving injury. A spokesperson for the NHTSA said the investigation may take up to six months to complete. A recall involving nearly 400,000 cars may result if defects are detected.

If you have been injured in an automobile fire, it may be important for you to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
