Plavix, also known as clopidogrel bisulfate is indicated for the prevention of second stroke in patients with hardening of the arteries. Plavix, belonging to a group of medications known as antiplatelet drugs, prevents platelets from clumping together during blood clotting, reducing the chance of thrombosis. Plavix comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It usually is taken once a day. Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 1997, Plavix is made by Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Potential side effects of Plavix include, but may not be limited to, upset stomach, rashes and/or itching, headache, constipation, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms and general allergic reactions.
Plavix has been linked to liver and bile disorders.
If you have experienced an adverse reaction after being administered Plavix, it may be important to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
