Toxic Hair Loss: Overview

Hair begins to grow in the dermis, the section of skin immediately below the outer layer of skin known as the epidermis. Hair loss associated with substances such as thallium is known as toxic hair loss. Usually toxic hair loss stops, and hair returns, once exposure is abated.
