
Osteoporosis occurs primarily in elderly people and results in a decrease in bone density. This decrease leaves osteoporosis sufferers with much weaker bones and puts them at an increased risk for bone fractures. One of the primary causes of osteoporosis is lack of sufficient calcium in the diet.
