
Pregnancy occurs when the male sperm fertilizes the female egg. Such fertilization may occur when the egg is released from an ovary and sperm penetrate the egg in the fallopian tube. Once the egg is fertilized it moves out of the fallopian tube and attaches to the wall of the uterus where the embryo develops. The normal pregnancy last approximately nine months.
