Bone Screws

Doctors use bone screws to surgically realign and set broken bones. Bone screws may also be used to shorten or lengthen abnormally sized legs and to relieve back pain. Some poorly designed or manufactured bone screws may weaken and break, causing excruciating pain. In addition, some procedures call for screws to be inserted through the skin. In such cases the insertions must be monitored carefully in order to detect and prevent infection.
