Front-to-Side Collision

A frontal impact collision between the front bumper of your vehicle and the side of a vehicle crossing your path can cause serious injuries and damage to your vehicle and its occupants. The severity of such a collision typically depends on where the front of your vehicle contacts the side of the other vehicle. That is, the injuries to the occupants of your vehicle will likely be much greater if your front bumper impacts the middle section (doors) of the crossing vehicle rather than colliding with the area around the front or rear tires of the crossing vehicle. In other words, if the front of your vehicle collides with the middle of the crossing vehicle, the momentum of your vehicle will be reduced much more rapidly than if you collide with the front or rear quarter of the crossing vehicle.
