Hormonal Disorders

Certain organs release chemicals known as hormones. Hormones control the development of sexual characteristics, reproduction, and other aspects relating to the growth and development of our bodies. Many of the major hormones in our bodies are produced by the endocrine system, which includes, among other things, the pituitary gland, the adrenal glands, the pancreas, the thyroid gland and the ovaries and testes. Other organs such as the brain and kidney also produce hormones.

Problems such as hypoglycemia, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and diabetes insipidus can result from a hormonal imbalance.
