Speech Disorders: Overview
Problems communicating effectively and expressing yourself through language can result in serious social interaction difficulties. Typical communication problems include placing words in the wrong sequence such as "I the book need" rather than "I need the book" and associating the wrong words with objects, such as pointing towards a book and saying "I need that radio." Some people with speech disorders may not be capable of communicating at all, while others may not be able to regulate their speech and may continue to talk when it is inappropriate to do so.
